Cornerstone

The first laid block
is about preparation
whether stone or rock
it's determination.

From it shall spring
all that succeeds:
walls which will bring
a roof and its eaves.

But if that first block's
without foundation
or if that first rock's
bad figuration

confound and postpone
plumb level and right.
A bad cornerstone
will be your blight.

Inspect and be sure
confirm every way
your work will endure
If the first block's OK.
